Monroe man arrested on charges of attempted first-degree feticide and domestic violence warrants
MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Authorities have arrested a man from Monroe on charges of attempted first degree feticide. The incident happened in July 2020
According to court records, on July 26, 2020, Monroe Police were called to the 1200 block of 4th Street South following a battery complaint. Police, the victim, who was pregnant at the time, told them that her ex-boyfriend, Deterrius Deontrel Hutchinson, 33, of Monroe, physically assaulted her. Records indicate that an arrest warrant has been issued for Hutchinson for domestic violence and for the above charge.
On May 29, 2021, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a traffic stop on a vehicle after seeing it moving in the outer lane of Winnsboro Road in Monroe. MPs say that before the vehicle came to a complete stop, they saw a passenger in the backseat get out of the vehicle and walk away. The passenger was later identified as Deterrius Hutchinson
OPSO says that after a short foot chase, Hutchinson was apprehended and placed under arrest. MPs say during a search they find a stolen gun in Hutchinson’s pocket. They say Hutchinson claimed to have found the gun on the side of the road.
He was registered with the Ouachita correctional center for attempted first degree feticide, several active arrest warrants and other charges.
